Annual Nexia International conference held in Athens
Yearly conference of Nexia International member firms from the European-Asian-African region (EMEA) was held щn April 18-20, 2018 in Athens. More than 140 delegates from 98 countries participated in the event.
Kevin Arnold, CEO Nexia International, in his welcome speech stressed that Nexia network strengthened its positions by the end of 2017 and currently occupies 9th place in the international audit and consulting networks rating (according to the International Accounting Bulletin).
Members exchanged ideas and discussed the future of the network.
Nexia Chair Markus Emmrich presented main development trends across the network for the year. Primarily it is strengthening of the regional structure, including the appointment of coordinators for all major regions, as well as the search for member companies in countries not yet represented in Nexia network.
A new IT strategy implementing was declared as a necessary condition for the network development.
Particular attention is planned to be payed to the development and implementation of the global audit methodology. According to Olga Goryacheva, executive director of Nexia Pacioli LLC, the implementation of uniform methodological standards will require a lot of effort and will not be easy. But it will bring long-term value and commercial benefit to Nexia member firms, taking into account a clear willingness from the customers to see not only Big4 companies as audit service providers.
